NEW DELHI. The Supreme Court on Monday asked the centre to respond to a petition seeking an inquiry into the alleged leak of question paper for Staff Selection Commission (SSC) exam conducted between February 17 to February 21.
The date for the hearing has been scheduled for March 19 i.e. next Monday
The Staff Selection Commission conducts various exams for recruitment in the central government.
Earlier, On March 5, the union government had given orders a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the alleged question paper leak. Then, the commission’s chairman had recommended a CBI inquiry and urged students to call of protest.
After a week of protests by aspirants, are yet to receive any written assurance since February 27. The Students had alleged “mass cheating” and said exam paper was leaked in the Combined Graduate Level-Test II examination on February 21. However, SSC had cancelled the exam by saying a technical issue.
Last week in Jaipur, the protests continued in spite of repeated appeals from several union ministers, leading to the detention of seven candidates under section 151.
